Popular Cameron Mitchell restaurant appears to be opening a second location in Columbus
A little taste of the Short North might soon join Easton.
According to city permits, Cameron Mitchell Restaurant Company plans to open another Del Mar location at 4089 Strand E., in the former Bon Vie space, which closed in 2020.
The first Del Mar restaurant opened in the Short North in the Spring of 2019, with a menu inspired by Southern California fare, featuring grilled and fried seafood as well as raw oyster and shrimp offerings, and even hand-rolled sushi.
Del Mar’s second location can be found in Naples, Florida, with a focus on Mediterranean cuisine. “Chefs use flavors from Greece, Southern Spain, Morocco, France, Italy, and Turkey,” said their website. This menu features fresh dips and spreads, a variety of seafood and wood-fired meats, accompanied by bright produce, fresh cheese, olive oil, and spices.

It’s unclear when the third Del Mar location at Easton will open and what type of menu they’ll offer. City permits show there will be a patio though, which will be the perfect spot for sipping on a glass of wine while overlooking the Central Fountain.
Cameron Mitchell Restaurant Group is on a roll with new restaurant concepts, with the most recent openings being Cento in German Village and Valentina’s in Dublin. Next summer, a new Cameron Mitchell steakhouse called Butcher & Rose is opening at 155 E. Broad St. according to their website, and many new restaurants are opening in other cities.
