Popular restaurant is up for sale – here’s what’s happening

Understandably, many people were left confused when they saw that one of their favorite restaurants went up for sale last month.

The Delaware location of The Old Bag of Nails, located at 66 Sandusky St., is indeed for sale for $1,900,000. Old Bag of Nails leases this 6,651 square foot space through the current owners.

“The acquisition of this property, with its strong existing tenancy and robust location, presents a singular chance to secure a stable and potentially lucrative asset in the heart of a bustling and economically diverse area…” the listing says.

Whoever buys the property doesn’t have to keep The Old Bag of Nails as its tenant though, confirmed the manager of the restaurant. “We’re hoping to continue to rent from the new owner,” said the manager. “They’re already in talks with a potential buyer who wants us to continue in this space.”

However, the manager confirmed that it’s all still up in the air. There’s a possibility that a new buyer will want to change the space/restaurant entirely. “We’ve also heard that Old Bag of Nails Corporate might just purchase the building themselves,” she confirmed.

As of right now though, what we do know is that you can still stop in for some hand-battered Fish & Chips and Po Boys.
