A new Greek restaurant specializing in gyros & kebabs just opened

Everyone going on the Mediterranean Diet for their New Year’s resolutions – gyros are still allowed, right?! (Right.)

There’s a new spot in town that opened last week, and people are already raving about their gyros, falafel, and calamari. Athena’s Gyro House, located at 2798 London Groveport Rd. in Grove City, has spent the past couple of months renovating the space to transform it into a Mediterranean restaurant.

They of course specialize in succulent gyros, with the option of lamb, beef, or chicken, along with a variety of pitas, shawarma, and kebobs. They offer greek salads, a home-made chicken lemon soup, and even cheeseburgers, cheesesteaks, and fried appetizers, like spinach feta pies.

Athena’s Gyro House’s owner, Franceska Banushi, was born in Albania. According to their website, Banushi’s family opened restaurants in America when migrating here, in hopes of sharing their traditional foods and recipes. “Franceska’s goal is to keep providing excellent customer service, quality products, and keep sharing the mouthwatering Mediterranean foods that her family had passed on through generations…” says their website.

Athena’s is open Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
