Last October, a kitchen fire took out one of Columbus’ longstanding Chinese restaurants, but fortunately, not permanently.

Hunan Lion, located at 2038 Crown Plaza Dr., shared five months ago that they didn’t have a reopening date or time frame yet, but that they would keep everyone updated once they did.

Well, good news – this summer, you won’t just get more sunshine and flowers in your life – you’ll also be able to have some incredible lo mein and Szechuan Chicken, all in a beautiful ambiance that Columbus has known and loved since 1987.

They shared a social media post explaining the following: “Construction will finally commence in the coming weeks! The process has taken much longer than expected but we are working towards an early summer return. Thank you all for your continued support and encouragement. We will keep you posted on progress.”

The public took to the comments for support, plus the post garnered hundreds of ‘likes.’ “Great news!! We miss you so much!” said one person. “So glad to hear this!! There’s been a Hunan Lion shaped void in my life since the fire,” said another.

We’re ecstatic to see Hunan Lion making progress towards the reopening that all of Columbus seems to be waiting for.
