Beloved Southern-style restaurant and food truck opening another location

Taesty’s Southern Style isn’t just named that because their carry-out restaurant is located 30 miles south of Columbus. “I’m from Wilson, North Carolina, and we use North Carolina inspired flavors in all of our food,” explained Tae Spell, co-owner of Taesty’s Southern Style.

Instead of wings covered in sauce, Taesty’s is known for their signature dry rub seasonings that represent the tastes of North Carolina, and Tae said that’s what makes them so popular. “If you need sauce, since it’s all about the sauce in Ohio, we’ll give it to you though,” he laughed.

The people lining up at their food truck and Circleville carry-out restaurant are also there for their vinegar based pulled pork sandwiches with Carolina-style slaw on top, as well as their Wagyu beef sliders and homemade baked mac & cheese.

Soon, Columbus will be able to experience all that Taesty’s has to offer without making the trek to Circleville or searching for their food truck schedule online. Taesty’s is opening a booth at Grandview Crossing Food Hall (the new market at the Grandview Crossing development, opening this summer), four years after originally opening their food truck, and they couldn’t be more excited to expand.

“We’ve been wanting to get into a food hall for years,” Alyssa Spell, co-founder, explained. “We thought this would be something really good for us, and we were actually one of the first ones to sign on with the food hall.”

Their new Grandview location will offer a similar menu to their Circleville shop and food truck.

If you can’t wait until then, you can find Taesty’s parked at the Columbus Commons May-October, plus at all of the food truck festivals, and various other spots, which you can find here. You can also visit their Circeville carry-out restaurant, located at 410 S. Pickaway St. Taesty’s is also available for catering, boxed lunches for corporations, plus weddings!
