Recently closed pizza joint could be demolished for new, popular fried chicken chain location

On Feb 17, MacKenzie River Pizza, Grill, & Pub announced they were closing their Polaris storefront, leaving only one remaining restaurant of theirs left, located in Pickerington.

Now, it looks like that restaurant is going to be bulldozed, making way for a fried chicken chain that seems to be ruling the Midwest. You guessed it – Chick-Fil-A appears to be opening at this 1515 Polaris Parkway location, according to city permits, which show that this has been in the works before MacKenzie River Pizza even closed their doors.

Records show the first plan for demolition and reconstruction was approved back in November of last year. The new building appears to be projected around 4,800 square feet, with both a drive-thru and dining room option, and the project costs around $800,000, according to permits.

A Chick-Fil-A spokesperson could not be reached for comment regarding the new construction and projected opening.
