Short North location of artisan chocolate shop chain opening next month

The new location of Winan’s Coffee & Chocolate is coming to the Short North, and it couldn’t have picked a better day to open.

The popular Ohio chain’s fourth Columbus-area storefront, which is located at 611 N. High St., will open to the public on Feb. 14. Yup, that’s right: Valentine’s Day.

Miles and Monica Thomas, who operate the Winan’s location in German Village, will serve as the franchisees of the chain’s newest home.

“We’ve known for a while that we wanted to open another Winans store, and we were waiting for the right time and opportunity,” Monica Thomas said in a press release. “Short North is a natural next for us, and we are thrilled to bring Winans to another one of Columbus’ historic districts.”

The grand opening event for the new Short North coffee and chocolate shop will include free drip coffee (from 8-11 a.m.), complimentary Valentine’s Day chocolates (from 12-4 p.m.) and even chocolate-covered strawberry tastings from 5 p.m.-close.
