Storm damage forced one of Ohio’s top-rated pizza shops to temporarily close; now reopen
There’s a tiny corner market and bait & tackle store in Galena, OH that also happens to serve some of central Ohio’s favorite pizza. In fact, the website “Only in Your State” awarded it the best pizza in Ohio.
Unfortunately, last week, Cheshire Market, located at 5094 Cheshire Rd., had to close for a little bit due to destructive storm damage. “We’re still not sure if it was a tornado that did the damage or just extreme wind, but it knocked our chimney over and went through our roof,” Cheshire Market told 614Now.
On Friday, March 15, Cheshire Market found a huge hole in their roof, with debris scattered throughout their shop. They posted on social media that they were forced to close for the weekend, and hundreds of people expressed their sympathy.

They originally weren’t sure of how long the cleanup process would take. “We have a lot of work to get there,” Cheshire Market told 614Now on Friday. But the kind people of central Ohio lended a hand, and Cheshire Market was able to reopen sooner than they thought was possible.
“Huge shoutout to everyone who came out to lend a helping hand during our repairs! Your support and generosity mean the world to us. We couldn’t have done it without you! Let’s celebrate together at our grand reopening tomorrow!” Cheshire Market posted on Saturday.
They’re officially up and running again, and here to serve you some of the finest pizza in Ohio.
Oh, and if you happen to see a new sign out on their building, the storm also completely blew away the one they’ve proudly had for the past 30 years.
