The owners of popular ramen spot launch Columbus’ first Omakase restaurant

Just months after creating a new spinoff matcha concept, the culinary minds behind Fukuryu Ramen have launched the city’s first omasake spot.

Haru Omasake held its grand opening on Oct. 25., the new eatery is located at 2027 Polaris Pkwy.

The new eatery brings quality sushi, as well as omasake—the Japanese culinary tradition where a chef determines the meal, not the diner, similar to a tasting menu—to Columbus.

Yudi Makassau serves as the new concept’s executive chef. He is also behind each of Haru’s menus, pairings and drink offerings.

Haru Omasake was launched by the owners of Fukuryu Ramen, which operates multiple locations throughout central Ohio. This summer, Fukuryu created another spinoff concept at its Bridge Park location when it opened Milky Way Matcha Bar, which serves matcha and Japanese street food.
