A central Ohio spot for popcorn and more is shuttering after a run of nearly two decades, although it may not be for good,

Pam’s Market Popcorn & Windy City Eats will close on June 22, the concept announced today.

Owner Pam Tylka will be stepping away from the popcorn shop and restaurant due to health concerns, although, according to a press release, she hopes to eventually reopen “when her health permits,” in either New Albany or Gahanna.

Tylka originally opened Pam’s Market Popcorn in the North Market Downtown in 2005, before relocating to a freestanding production and retail space in 2017 that also includes Chicago-inspired fare in Pam’s Market Popcorn & Windy City Eats, which is located at 955 E. Johnston Rd.

“Expressing deep gratitude for the support and love received over the years, Pam extends a heartfelt thank you to her loyal customers that have supported her business through the years, as well as, through her health challenges,” the press release reads. “She warmly invites everyone to visit on June 22 to share laughs, memories, and, of course, great popcorn.”
