Duo accused of faking identities to attend yoga classes at multiple studios around town & stealing credit cards during classes

A couple of weeks ago, a prominent yoga studio in Columbus posted a message on their Instagram stories to those who attend yoga classes, warning attendees to start locking up their items, for they said they believed someone was stealing items while pretending to get a drink of water or take a break during yoga classes.

This exact yoga studio declined to comment, but a duo has since been accused of using fake identities to attend yoga classes around the city, only to then allegedly steal credit cards from victims attending the classes.

According to Grandview Police and the City of Grandview, Tevin Gray, 34, of Columbus, was arrested by a Grandview Heights detective during an execution of a search warrant at a Columbus residence. His accused partner in this alleged crime, Amirah White, 39, of California, is believed to have traveled back to California.

The pair has been accused of working together during these yoga classes to steal the cards, then spend thousands of dollars on them. Multiple victims have been accused of getting their cards stolen from Modo Yoga, located at 1041 Dublin Rd., and GoYoga, at 1520 W. 1st Ave. Other yoga studios and victims have since come forward via social media, but they declined to comment on the story during this investigation.

The City of Grandview and Grandview Police are asking that any individual who may have been a victim of theft while attending a yoga class at any Central Ohio location between the dates of July 21 and August 10, 2024, contact Police at (614) 488-7901 and ask to speak with a detective.
