Find out which Ohio city is one of the ‘worst college towns in America’

Thanks in part to a world-class athletics program and a lively, urban campus that’s home to Ohio State and more, Columbus’ reputation as a college town precedes itself.

According to a new list from ALOT Travel, Toledo was named one of the worst college towns in the country.

“While Toledo ranked well for the wallet friendliness score, coming in at number 75 out of 415, it was less than average for social environment scoring 268 and very very poor in academic and economic opportunities scoring 401 in that category,” the story reads. “We guess the saying ‘you get what you pay for’ applies here.”

ALOT Travel noted that Toledo is home to The University of Toledo, Mercy College of Ohio, and Davis College.

With over ⅓ of the list’s cities coming from California, the Buckeye State’s only entry was the northwestern Ohio city.
