Grammy-nominated celeb makes surprise visit to Franklin County Jail
The individuals at the Franklin County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Court (FCDRJC) received a surprise visit from a popular rapper and country singer before his Columbus performance last week.
According to multiple posts from FCDRJC, Jelly Roll, whose real name is Jason DeFord, paid a surprise visit yesterday to speak with the youth in the facility.
A native of Nashville, Jelly Roll shared that he spent a large portion of his youth inside of detention centers.

“When I was 14, I got arrested for the first time, and from 14 to 26, I probably spent 10 years incarcerated,” he said. “I also know whoever came to talk to me, it felt like they were preaching to me. So instead of preaching to y’all, I want to show y’all how bad you suck at spades.”
