Historic home published in ‘Bon Apetit’ demolished to make way for apartment complex
“Something for every enthusiasm: tennis/pickleball court with covered viewing deck; heated, in-ground diving pool with adjacent pool house & covered patio; attached greenhouse; fenced garden; meditation meadow; wine grotto; chef’s dream kitchen published nationally in Bon Apetit,” reads the auction listing.
You probably wouldn’t guess that a house with the description above would be completely razed – but City Council approved for this historic home, set among acres of nature, to be demolished to make way for apartment complexes.
The Legislation Details paperwork shows that Rock Run Developer LLC will rezone the 14+ acre area, located at 4747 Dublin Rd. for 3-story multi-unit residential developments with a maximum of 192 apartments.

Citizens on the NextDoor app were concerned about the trees (among other aspects of the demolition), which have been growing there for decades, but the documents state that “existing trees shall be preserved as depicted on the Site Plan.”
The historic home has been owned by the same family for the past fifty years, and real estate listings describe it as meticulously maintained. It’s been the site of numerous weddings and functions.
It was razed last week.
