International chain closing another central Ohio location; 173 jobs eliminated

After closing a Groveport location this past year, resulting in hundreds of layoffs, another central Ohio location of an international supply chain facility appears to be on the cutting block.

DHL Supply Chain filed a WARN Notice to state officials last week, stating their plans to permanently close their Canal Winchester plant next April, which is located at 6200 Winchester Blvd.

They’ll be phasing out the job eliminations in tiers:
The Weekend Shift will close on 12/15/2024 and result in the layoff of 32 associates, while Second Shift will close on 2/15/2025, resulting in the layoff of 62 associates. 1st shift will close on 4/28/2025 and result in the layoff of 79 associates, totaling 173 all together.

“DHL Supply Chain has been collaborating with one of our customers to optimize their supply chain to better align with their business needs and growth plans,” the company said in a statement. “As a result, the warehouse facility in Canal Winchester that supports their operation will close April 2025. In the coming weeks, we will work with our associates to determine opportunities to continue their career as valued team members of DHL Supply Chain.”
