Multiple people injured after SUV crashes into Columbus restaurant

Multiple individuals were injured after an SUV crashed into a Southeast Columbus Bob Evans over the weekend.

According to a Columbus Division of Fire incident report, the crash occurred just after 11:45 a.m. on Oct. 20. 

The report states that an individual was parked in an SUV near the front entrance of the Bob Evans restaurant located at 4019 Hamilton Square Boulevard on the city’s Southeast Side. It says the car then accelerated into the front of the eatery and the vehicle ended up two feet into the Bob Evans’ front room.

According to the report, two people were injured and transported from the scene to the hospital. Additionally, a ten foot section of the building collapsed at the bottom and two windows were broken.

As of Sunday afternoon, the Hamilton Square Bob Evans was closed for repairs.
