Typically, local content creator Katie Santry’s videos were related to motherhood, parenting and family life. Until one day, they weren’t.

Santry, whose TikTok handle is @Katiesantry, has recently gone viral on the platform for a series of videos that chronicle her family’s discovery of an ominous buried rug in their yard. Police, ghosts and potential buried bodies ensue.

According to Santry, everything started when her and her husband planned on building a new fence in their yard.

“We were digging a post hole and we got to a point where there was a giant rug two and a half feet deep, and we couldn’t keep digging,” she told 614Now.

The entire process of them finding the rug, and the gripping events that follow, are chronicled on her TikTok. Her videos related to the incident have gone viral, with many of them amassing several million views each. The most-viewed video–which you can watch below–has over 7 million views as of Wednesday morning.

“I absolutely did not anticipate it to go viral.” Santry said with a laugh.

On Monday, she called the police, who came to her house to take a look at the buried rug. According to the local content creator, “they almost called homicide; they also think it’s very, very weird.”

She told 614Now that police said they didn’t have the resources to dig up the rug themselves, but she’s hoping a local construction company would be willing to help her unearth it.

@katiesantry Replying to @ɱεℓ ɓ thats that. At first, I really thought this was about to get insane, but after he called his boss, they decided they could not put resources into something unknown. so there we have it the story ends and whatever is in that rug will stay there. “Now we’re trying to figure out how to get this rug out of the ground. We’re determined to get this rug out and see what’s going on,” she said. “The police said we can dig, and if we find something they’ll come back.”

Additionally, Santry reported strange, unexplained things happening around her house after discovering the buried item, and has openly wondered on TikTok if her house is now haunted.

“My laptop gets shattered in the middle of the night…The Apple guy says it looked like it was elbowed or punched..The [sunroom] door was closed, and the laptop was in the room closest to the hole,” she said. “I was like, ‘Oh my God. What the hell happened?’”

We’ll keep you updated on the saga, and you can watch yourself on Santry’s TikTok.
