Mexican grocery store introducing a ‘tortilla factory,’ where you can watch tortillas being made from scratch

Sav McKee

Since opening their doors 20 years ago, La Plaza Tapatia has been one of the best choices in central Ohio for fresh food and authentic Mexican offerings.

While their famous homemade cakes, pastries, and ice creams are the talk of the town, they’ve recently introduced a tortilleria, which brings daily, fresh made tortillas to your table.

This new “tortilla factory” uses the finest corn and is baked to the perfect temperature using processes and equipment just like they do in Mexico. The recipe is authentically Mexican, and the person who’s been placed in charge of the tortilleria has helped run tortilla factories in Mexico.

The best part is that the tortilleria is right there in the store! While you’re grabbing your groceries, you can have a first-hand view at the people hard at work creating these delicious tortillas.

See for yourself! Visit them at 255 Georgesville Rd., 7am-10pm every day, and check out the video below for a preview of how these tortillas are made.
