New local group providing free home makeovers to deserving Columbus residents, one room at a time

A new Columbus group is going room by room to change the lives of local homeowners.

Through her organization, Project Refresh, Columbus realtor Carole Greenzalis is on a mission to reward deserving Columbus homeowners with an entirely free makeover of one room in their home.

“I truly believe that I was put in a position to be a business owner so I could create resources to be stewarded to bless others,” Greenzalis said. “This project has been on my heart for years and I knew it’d be a great way to uplift others and spread joy throughout our community.”

The inaugural Project Refresh makeover–which was documented on Greenzalis’ Instagram account–focused on the entryway of Columbus childcare professional Marcia Jones. A 20-year veteran of the childcare industry, Jones lives in the Milo-Grogran neighborhood, has owned her home, which she uses as the location of her business, since 1989.

“[Jones] has dedicated her space & time to these children and families for decades. We felt it was time to give her a space in her home that not only gave her a place to relax, but also give the kids a new/updated space to nap & play,” Greenzalis said.

Jones’ new room was revealed on March 23. You watch a video of her reaction here, and you can check out before and after photos of the space below:
