Will you win the cornhole olympics? WSA’s 10th annual cornhole tournament & silent auction is soon, & you’re invited!
A decade ago, local design agency WSA Studio set up a couple of cornhole boards and a grill in their parking lot, inviting some friends and clients to enjoy some time away from their desks and computers. They didn’t expect it to reach so many people.
10 years later, and WSA’s annual cornhole tournament is the talk of the city, bringing people together to support a local non-profit and show off their aim and auctioning skills.
You’re invited to this 10th Annual Cornhole Competition & Fundraiser on October 10th! It will be a lively celebration at 982 S. Front Street in the Brewery District, dedicated to a decade of giving back as a community. Anyone is welcome to RSVP to the cornhole competition, but tournament spots are filling up quickly!
The entry is a suggested donation that goes directly to The Neighborhood Design Center (NDC), a nonprofit organization that helps people in less advantaged areas of Columbus plan and improve their neighborhoods. Working with residents to create designs that benefit community spaces, the NDC ensures everyone’s ideas are heard, included, and considered.
Isabela Gould, the Executive Director of the NDC, noted that WSA’s fundraiser will empower small businesses, community leaders, civic groups and high school youth, and cultivate a sense of place, anchoring, and belonging.
Guests can bid on local artwork, merchandise from different brands, activity packages, event tickets, and more, and they’ll all benefit NDC and their mission to make Columbus a better place!
“Celebrating 10 years of bringing together families, friends, communities, and industries is truly an incredible milestone,” said Chelsea Denman, WSA’s Studio Operations Coordinator. “Each year, we’re reminded of the power of coming together for a common cause—not just to have fun, but to make a meaningful difference for the local non-profits we support. This event has always been a community effort, and it’s inspiring to see how much people care and how dedicated they are to helping others through their participation and generosity.”
It’s not all about the Midwest favorite corn tossing game though (which, by the way, team costumes are highly encouraged, and WSA still remembers the team dressed as Guy Fieri a few years back). This incredible event will feature Wood Fired Catering Co. slinging slices of pizza, plus the local band Rendition will put on a set to play the night out while you relax with complimentary drinks.
Over the past 10 years, WSA has raised over $54,000 for local nonprofits, just from this community fundraising event alone. They’ve been all about the people in Columbus since the moment they were founded and have always had a focus on giving back, whether that’s through their work in the studio, or hosting unique events to raise funds for local charities.
WSA would like to thank their key sponsors who make this community event possible. This event is sponsored by Premier Commercial Construction, Dupler Office, Office Revolution/Teknion, LookCreates, Parsons North Brewing Co., (614) Lager, and Land-Grant Brewing.
Denman added, “We are incredibly grateful for our sponsors, participants, and volunteers, whose unwavering support has been the heart of this charity’s success. What started as a small, local gathering has grown into something bigger than we ever imagined, and this year promises to be our biggest yet. We’re aiming higher than ever, and we look forward to continuing this tradition for many more years to come.”
