After more than a decade, this Short North bar is closing for good

A long-standing Short North spot for craft cocktails has announced its plans to permanently close.

According to a statement posted to its social media accounts yesterday, MOUTON will be closing in the near future.

“After over a decade of laughter, camaraderie and unforgettable memories, we must announce that we are closing for good. When Todd and I acquired MOUTON all those years ago we never could have imagined the incredible journey that lay ahead,” the bar’s statement reads. “From such simple beginnings to becoming a cherished cornerstone of the Columbus cocktail community, each cocktail shook, every glass poured, every smile exchanged, and every memory made has been a testament to the love and support Columbus has always shown us.”

The Short North spot is located at 654 N. High St. After opening in 2010, MOUTON made a name for itself serving culinary cocktails, in addition to small plates and shareable food.

According to MOUTON’s statement, the bar’s lease was not renewed “as to make way for a new development with the adjacent space.” A closing date was not shared, but will be in the coming weeks.
