Another car crashes into Columbus storefront

Another day in Columbus, another car crashing into a business.

Around 7 p.m. last night, January 15th, an SUV crashed through the “lobby” entrance of the Hobby Lobby on Hilliard-Rome Rd.

With extensive damage, including shattered glass fragments and debris both inside and outside, the restoration company Thompson Restoration Associates was called to the scene to immediately board up the broken window at Hobby Lobby.

“Yesterday evening, we received a call to secure a beloved craft store on the west side of town, and boarded it up right away. Unfortunately, the crash was caused by a driver under the influence, who later showed up at the scene to let everyone know he’d done it 😭,” said Thompson Restoration’s Instagram account. 614Now reached out to the police for confirmation, but no comment has been made yet.

This marks the 6th car crash into a Columbus building/store front this year. And it’s only January 16th.
