Newborn puppies found abandoned in box on Morse Rd. in freezing temperatures; here’s how to help them

We hope this is never the case, but if you are ever in the situation where you have puppies on your hand that you cannot afford to take care of, please never leave them in a box in temperatures that could kill. Instead, take them to any nearby fire department or dog shelter.

Fortunately, in this case, a good samaritan found the box of 10 newborn puppies abandoned on the side of Morse Road in freezing temperatures and brought them to the Franklin County Dog Shelter. The 10 puppies, in danger of hypothermia, were quickly warmed up and fed at the shelter, defying the odds of surviving without their mother. 

They’ve been given the name “The Morse Road Miracle Pups.”

Based on the size and colorings of the puppies, they’re believed to be a larger breed, quite possibly pitbull or lab mixes. It’s too soon to tail, but one thing is for sure: they’re so cute. Some are solid black, some are dappled, while one is pure white with a speckled face and tail. 

The adorable puppies will be up for adoption hopefully by the end of February or early March. In the meantime though, they’re in need of the following supplies, like puppy pads, blankets, toys, food, and other much-needed supplies, which you can buy off their Amazon wishlist.
