Dublin bar and restaurant owner passes away

A light in the Columbus dining scene has gone out.

Jeff Parenteau, owner of the Bogey Inn Bar & Grill—an upscale sports bar known by locals and regulars as The Bogey—passed away on Jan. 31, according to his obituary. He was 45 years old.

Parenteau, who often went by his nickname “Bogey Jeff,” was born in Michigan City Indiana, but later relocated to the greater Columbus area, where he attended Dublin Coffman High School.

In addition to operating the Bogey, he was known throughout the city’s food scene as a renovator and remodeler. Through his company Imperial Renovations & Designs, Parenteau remodeled and refurbished many prominent Columbus restaurants and bars.

Other Columbus eateries that Parenteau impacted, such as the Short North’s Urban Chophouse, reacted to his death. “Jeff was a beloved member of the One Hospitality family and the owner of the Bogey Inn in Dublin,” a post to the restaurant’s Instagram account reads.
