Columbus-area brewery and restaurant opening inside of refurbished fire station

Since the beginning, Scott Wilkins had his eyes set on the former Granville fire station as the eventual home of Three Tigers Brewing, and soon enough his dream will become reality.

That’s because Three Tigers is slated to officially open inside Granville’s former fire station on April 1.

The popular craft brewery and restaurant (the eatery is named Mai Chau, but Wilkins considers them to be “one in the same”), originally opened at 140 N. Prospect St. in 2016. And while Mai Chau is located next door at 138 N. Prospect St., both the brewery and restaurant will be moving into the new space, which located across the street at 133 N. Prospect St.

Even though the former Three Tigers Space, which closed this week for the move, is only about 40 steps from the new one, according to Watkins, the updated home of Three Tigers will come with an abundance of new upgrades.

“The old space was 2,600 square feet, and the new one is about 6,000,” He said. “This will be a huge jump for us.”

Wilkins added that the move will allow Three Tigers to pivot from a 3.5 to a 10 barrel brewing system, and will allow them to begin canning their beers and even selling some at locations around Granville.

Mai Chau, likewise, will increase in size and offerings with the move. At its former location, the restaurant focused primarily on Vietnamese-inspired fare, but Wilkins plans to add sandwiches, seafood and more following its April opening.
