New themed Otherworld room to be available soon
Otherworld’s newest room is meant to take the spectator on a fanciful adventure.
Known as “the Drabbit Hallway,” the 40-foot narrow passageway is slated to be open to the public in the next month or so at the immersive art space at 5819 Chantry Dr. 614 got in touch with Otherworld, working with Textiles Lead Ira Tecson and Props and Scenic Lead Pilgrim Kambitsch to learn more about the space they designed.
It was Tecson who came up with the initial concept that would fuel the design: a double-ended serpent moon rabbit symbolizing rebirth. Kambitsch worked with Tecson to make the initial concept more immersive and interactive.

“We want this space to feel peaceful, whimsical, nostalgic, and fun,” Tecson said.
Visitors to Otherworld will be able to enter the hallway from a few different places. From the Basement room, visitors will turn the corner and come face to face with a whimsical, multi-eyed creature holding lanterns to help them navigate the corridor. From the Seamstress room, visitors will be able to catch a glimpse of a portion of the creature spilling out from the top of the corridor.
As visitors move through the hallway, they’ll be able to walk through the belly of the benevolent beast. This was a feature that Kambitsch’s nine-year-old neighbor suggested, because she enjoyed going inside the belly of Otherworld’s narwhal creature, Miss Schmuffly. While guests will be able to move through this beast in a similar way, they’ll also be in for a bit of a light show: Thanks to a UV reactive composition, the creature’s fur glows along its undulating neck and body. The corridor’s walls feature stylized waves of water emitting placid lights at their crests. Eventually, Otherworld will add an interactive giant bead maze to the space as well.
