New York-style pizzeria opens in German Village area

A New York-style pizzeria is bringing some culinary variation to the Parsons Avenue corridor.

Pizzano’s Express, which is located at 804 Parsons Ave., has officially opened its doors. The new spot was launched by Abdullah Blata, a co-owner of the original Pizzano’s located at 2460 Cassidy Ave., which remains open.

Abdullah told 614Now in an interview last fall that while the new location will not be operated by all of the owners of the Cassidy Avenue Pizzano’s, the food will remain the same at Pizzano’s Express.

This includes the eatery’s New York-style pizza, subs, gyros and what Abdullah calls “the best Stromboli in town.”

Pizzano’s Express will offer takeout and delivery only. The new Parsons Avenue pizzeria is open from 11 a.m.-10 p.m. Monday through Friday, 12-10 p.m. on Saturday and 2-10 p.m. on Sunday.
