Columbus rum named one of the world’s best
High Bank Distillery Co. isn’t the only Columbus spirits brand reeling in prestigious awards.
Recently, the San Francisco International Spirits Competition, widely regarded as the world’s most impactful contest for distilleries, released its list of the highest-graded rums from around the world, and a product from Columbus-based Echo Spirits Distilling made an appearance.
Echo Spirits’ Queens Share Rum was tapped for a Double Gold award at the contest this year, alongside only 14 other spirits from around the world. Here’s what the judges had to say about the rum:

Extremely fruity with aromas ranging from stone to tropical fruits. On the palate, the rum is sweet and features notes of golden raisin, tropical fruits, hints of peach and dried apricot, and butterscotch and caramel.
In total, 15 different rums hailing from Ohio to Spain received the contest’s coveted Double Gold Medal award this year. The contest’s single Best in Show winner will be named at the Top Shelf Awards Gala and Grand Tasting next month.
