Local gourmet fried chicken restaurant quietly closed a location
An East-side fried chicken spot known for drumsticks, wings, and Southern-style sides like mashed potatoes and collard greens, quietly closed one of their locations.
The Crispy Coop opened a Pickerington location in March of 2021 at 1510 Cross Creeks Blvd., and 3 years later, the franchisees permanently closed the doors, according to The Crispy Coop.
Not all is lost though – another location, managed by the same crew at the original Grandview location, is opening in Reynoldsburg on April 18th, located at 6330 Tussing Rd.
The franchisee owners could not be reached for comment by the time this article was published.

The fried chicken concept’s first restaurant opened in Grandview in early 2020, located at 1717 Northwest Blvd.
The founder of The Crispy Coop originally owned the beloved restaurant, Uncle Nick’s Fried Chicken, which closed in late 2019, transitioning to their new concept. Columbus seems to especially love the Nashville Hot and Tennessee Mild fried chicken flavors as well as the fried chicken sandwiches, loaded with pickles and house-made slaw.
