20 person brawl & shooting at popular Columbus restaurant leaves 1 dead

Early Monday morning, around 2:30 a.m., multiple calls were made to 911 after a fight and a shooting broke out, starting inside of a popular restaurant known for late-night eats, according to police.

The brawl, involving 15-20 people at the Waffle House located at 1712 N. High St. near OSU’s campus, then spilled to the outside of the restaurant, where a shot was fired.

Columbus police have identified 38 year old Ronald Diggs as the person who died, suffering from the gunshot wound. Officials said Diggs was transported to a local hospital, but pronounced dead at around 3:06 a.m.
