Ohio restaurant makes coveted ‘New York Times’ favorite places list
We don’t need to drive too far to dine at one of the New York Times’ favorite restaurants in America right now.
The esteemed list of the Top 50 Favorite Restaurants in America featured The Aperture, set in Walnut Hills, Cincinnati.
The Aperture, owned and opened by chef Jordan Anthony-Brown, only opened early this year, but that’s not stopping them from gaining national recognition. The Times honored the restaurant for, “…the kitchen’s firm grasp of Mediterranean cuisine, particularly its eastern rim.”
Brett Anderson from the NYT noted that the live-fire cooking and Art Deco building makes it a “ritual” among diners. “The restaurant’s regulars already have favorite bartenders and go-to orders like glazed hamachi collar, pita dips built from roasted vegetables, and tomato spaghetti swirled with candied chiles.”

The Times said that their writers and editors spent an entire year traveling to almost every state to compile their coveted list.
