Hugely-popular hot chicken chain opens new Ohio store

Dave’s Hot Chicken has opened its sixth Ohio restaurant.

While it isn’t in Columbus, the Nashville hot chicken concept opened its newest storefront in Toledo today.

The new eatery is located at 5231 Monroe St., STE C, in Toledo.

While the official grand opening of the Toledo storefront is taking place today, according to an Instagram post from the concept, on Sept. 25, a “secret” soft opening was also held.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, which is based in California, began its expansion into Ohio in 2022. Its first Columbus-area restaurant opened that fall on the city’s Northwest Side, with another central Ohio storefront opening on High Street near OSU campus in December of 2023. Its third Columbus-area eatery, in Westerville, opened this spring.

The chain has two other locations in the Buckeye State, both of which are in the Cleveland area.
