They recently analyzed cities across the nation to find the safest and richest ones in 2024. “To do this, we collected a number of data points, including the average household income, total population, total households, cost of living indexes, crime rates, and more,” said GOBankingRates.

In this study, Ottawa Hills, OH ranked the 6th “Safest & Richest City” in the entire U.S. This village near Toledo boasts a family-oriented lifestyle, tree-lined streets, a meandering creek, abundant wildlife, and lush greenery. The historical homes also offer architectural significance, with many of them ranging from Tudor Revival to Mid-Century Modern. The village started in 1922, with a vision by John North Willys to create an “upscale” residential community. To this day, it’s still that.
The study shows that the average household income is $254,428, and the average single-family home value $408,529. Per 1,000 people, the violent crime rate is at a whopping 0.00, and the property crime rate is at 8.72.
