Detroit James Beard semi-finalist restaurant partnering with 2 Cbus bars this week for incredible popups
One of the coolest restaurants in Detroit, and that State Up North in general, is collaborating with two of Columbus’ coolest establishments this week.
TAKOI, a Thai-inspired, James Beard semi-finalist boasting accolades like “Best New Restaurant in 2017” and “The 12 Best New Restaurants in America” in 2016, is making their way to two Columbus establishments with a few impressive accolades themselves.

Starting tomorrow, October 8th, TAKOI’s beverage director, Drew Pompa, is joining Cobra from 6-10pm for a food and drink collab. Think noodles, sandwiches, and other snacks that will highlight Cobra’s Asian-American-inspired roots, mixed with TAKOI’s modern Thai flavor profiles. No reservations are required, and a throwdown of signature cocktails will keep the party going.
Then, on Wednesday October 9th, TAKOI’s esteemed chef, Brad Greenhill, is collaborating with Watershed, creating a casual, a la carte menu featuring “approachable flavor profiles and some of TAKOI’s greatest menu hits,” said their press release. Pompa will also be slinging speciality cocktails to compliment the food menu, using Watershed’s in-house distilled spirits.
See you there!
