Bakery featuring ‘boujee Hot Pockets’ opens new location
A “savory bakery” has opened its doors to the public.
Hey Babes, a bakery run by a trio of certified chefs, held the grand opening of its first ever dine-in restaurant.
The eatery is located at 50 S. 2nd St. in Newark. It previously operated out of a drive-thru space, which was also in Newark.

According to co-owner Casey Stoughton, Hey Babes has two other co-owners, Abby Cole and Liz Siemer, who are the store’s only employees.
While the Newark spot does provide a variety of sweet treats regularly, they consider Hey Babes a “savory bakery,” with their speciality being culinary hand pies described by Stoughton as “Boujee Hot Pockets,” but other favorites include Nashville Hot Hashbrowns, a breakfast sandwich made on homemade milk bread, Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies and Avocado Toast.
The restaurant is open 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Friday.
