Atheists smarter than Christians? Quiz question has OSU in hot water
Reportedly a student took a screenshot of a question on a quiz from a Psychology 1100 class at Ohio State that has some questioning the class. The question read:
Theo has an IQ of 100 and Aine has an IQ of 125. Which of the following statements would you expect to be true?
• Aine is an atheist, while Theo is a Christian.
• Aine earns less money than Theo.
• Theo is more liberal than Aine.
• Theo is an atheist, while Aine is a Christian.
The first answer was deemed correct, implying that atheists are more intelligent than Christians. The university has said that none of its professors wrote that and there is no a registered test that has that question on it, according to WTVN. Richard Petty, chairman of the Psychology Department at OSU said, “Nobody in our department, no faculty, staff, students – anybody had anything to do with this.” He attributed the quiz question to the book publisher who puts up sample quizes for students.
