Columbus & Dublin Pools Are Closed Today For Cleaning & Hyperchlorination.

Yesterday we wrote that 202 new cases of Crypto have been found in central Ohio, which is more than the previous four years combined.

Today, all Columbus pools will be closed for a hyperchlorination process. Crypto is naturally resistant against regular levels of chlorine, but the hyperchlorination process is far more intense and intends to destroy the diarrhea-causing bug.

They’ll open right back up when the chlorine levels stabilise.

With that said, the process will be for nothing if parents and children don’t use Health Official’s guidelines if you’re on your way to the fountain, pool or waterpark.

  • Do not swim when you have diarrhea and for two weeks after you recovered.
  • Do not pee or poop in the water.
  • Take a shower/bathe before going in the water.
  • Wash hands with soap and water after using the bathroom, changing diapers and before eating.
  • Change diapers in a bathroom and not by the pool.
  • Take kids on frequent bathroom breaks and check diapers often.
  • Avoid swallowing any water and keep it out of your mouth.
