Short North’s soon-to-open Julep has a “Pour-Your-Own” Beer Wall
You know the giant white Fireproof Building in the Short North? The one that sits next to Mikey’s Late Night Slice and Oddfellows, and houses Tai Tiki? Well, it’s becoming a very new thing on September 30th.
Welcome to the Short North, Julep, a boutique craft beer & cocktail bar. They say they’ll offer the largest craft beer and spirit selection in the area, with 40 rotating craft beers, cocktails, wines and “eclectic selections” — they’re talking about food.
The most interesting thing about Julep, besides the location is that they will be the first place in Columbus to have a “pour-your-own” beer wall. You swipe a prepaid card, take your glass to the wall and refill your beer at your leisure from their craft beer selection.
“The Short North is experiencing new growth amidst a thriving cultural scene and we are thrilled to open our newest concept in that neighborhood,” commented Sam Michael of Michael Brothers Entertainment Group (MBEG). “The approachable and energetic atmosphere of Julep is perfect for the active residents and visitors to Columbus and we welcome guests to try out our inspired features and signature cocktails.”
Julep will be the latest restaurant from creative team Fadi & Sam Michael, of MBEG. Their previous concepts include Formaggio, Park Street Cantina, and Granero Lounge.
Keep an eye out for the 30th, where you’ll find us making a beer version of a “fountain drink suicide.” That’s where you mix all the drinks together, if you didn’t know that already.
