Dublin and Hilliard Talk About Heroin Epidemic
The city and state alike have seen a incredible rash of heroin overdoses in the past couple of weeks, with hospitals being overwhelmed with patients and authorities distributing a life-saving overdose drug as fast as possible.
Now, according to Fox28, Dublin City schools, Franklin County, and Ohio leaders are coming together to discuss opiate abuse at the Dublin Scioto High School tonight at 7 PM.
Superintendent Dr. Todd Hoadley said in a media release that it’s important to talk about drug and alcohol abuse with students in order to “facilitate meaningful change and help save lives.”
Hilliard Bradley High School had a similar event, which Fox 28 reported was sponsored by Health Awareness & Recovery Together “HART.”
Organizers of the event said the forum was a shame-free zone, and ,medical experts, people in opiate recovery, and families were present to share their stories on how opiate addiction influenced their lives.
