Buzzkill: Ohio Stadium not selling alcohol despite having license

Ohio State has the license to sell alcohol in the stadium, but for now, they don’t have interest in doing so. “I haven’t proposed it, and probably won’t,” athletic director and OSU VP, Gene Smith said to the Lantern. “Don’t feel we need to. We have great tailgating, phenomenal tailgating, not just around the stadium, but all throughout Central Ohio and Columbus.” While OSU might not need it, alcohol sales in the stadium would bring in unimaginable amount of money, and probably some unwanted extra drunkenness as well. The paper reported that the Board of Trustees does not have the topic on its agenda for the next year either.
For now Buckeye fans are suds free (or at least inside the stadium they are).
