Biker club taking neighborhood safety into their own hands

The first thing that comes to mind when seeing a leather clad motorcycle club may not be vigilante, but some local chopper riders are taking steps to to change that. Literally.

A Columbus-based motorcycle group has taken upon themselves to make their presence known on the south side of the city to deter violence. The members meet up at South High School to interact with the students and walk with them. The area has been a hub of criminal activity lately with reports of multiple gun-related incidents last week.

Not only are the members helping protect the youth, but they’re also using this opportunity to discourage them from partaking in the violence. It’s a big job but the group is dedicated to making the community a safer place.
