New water attraction could be coming to Columbus

A Columbus startup is looking to bring a first-of-its-kind attraction to the community, but needs your help to do so.

Paddle Park is looking to raise money to fund an indoor paddle sport facility to provide a safe and immersive environment for water sport enthusiasts of all ages, skills, and abilities. Guests will be able to experience canoeing, kayaking, rowing or paddleboarding through many locations around the world without every leaving the outerbelt with visual projection technology and recreated water flow.

The recreational space will offer skill certification classes, while also setting aside time to cater to the needs of guests with disabilities who have otherwise never had an opportunity to enjoy paddle sports.

Paddle Park will also have a snack bar and indoor patio.

The Indiegogo campaign aims to raise $100,000 in 40 days for a facility, equipment, and marketing efforts.

“We are placing our trust in the crowd to come through and help us make this dream a reality,” Janosik continues. “It’s not just for those of us who enjoy paddle sports, but for the many that have never had the chance to experience kayaking, canoeing, rowing or standup paddleboarding. Paddle Park will provide that safe and secure learning environment.”

The Indiegogo campaign will officially launch October 1. A variety of perks are available for donators including unlimited use memberships, Paddle Park swag items, Kayak Kids sponsorships, preview night party, and date night events and more.
