Sunday admission free beginning Jan. 31 at Wexner Center for the Arts

Columbus, this winter is shaping up to be an excellent time for visiting some of our favorite places on a budget.

According to a Jan. 7 press release, The Wexner Center for the Arts at the Ohio State University will offer free admission to its galleries on Sundays, due to a contribution from Wex supporter the AEP Foundation. 

You can start taking advantage of the free Sundays beginning Jan. 31, to view the center’s winter 2021 exhibition, “Climate Changing: On Artists, Institution, and the Social Environment”. The exhibit features work from over 20 artists focusing on social issues and structural injustices.

“‘Climate Changing’ speaks to the vital role that artists and institutions like the Wex can play in fostering a society that is just and equitable,” said Executive Director Johanna Burton. “During a time of ongoing violent discord that has left many feeling isolated and unsure about what’s ahead, this expansive exhibition offers proposals and perspectives that can inspire individuals to imagine and work toward a better, bolder, and kinder future. We’re excited to share it with audiences and so grateful to the AEP Foundation for supporting our efforts to make the center’s programming more accessible to everyone in our community.”

Admission is also free on Thursdays after 4 p.m. as well as for Wexner Center members, college students, and visitors 18 and under. 

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Wednesday and Friday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
