Hot Chicken Takeover retires White Bone-in chicken
As restaurants deal with a chicken shortage, Hot Chicken Takeover has announced that it will retire its White Bone-in chicken.
The change is just one of a handful the eatery announced in an email yesterday, May 18.
“COVID has disrupted our company in ways we could never have imagined. Early on, it was easier to anticipate – it was all about challenges with real estate, investment, construction delays, employee health, etc. But soon after that initial fallout, the disruptions became a lot more persistent and sneaky,” the email reads in part.

HCT is retiring the White Bone-in chicken due to supply chain volatility and soaring prices. The eatery will also be increasings the price of its Wings.
As challenges persist with chicken, HCT is also rolling out a new, plant-based protein product and offering gluten-free chicken daily at all restaurants.
“This GF conversion won’t happen overnight, but we’ll keep you posted as restaurants come online,” the email reads.
