Small businesses to be highlighted during pop-up event at local cafe

If you’re looking for a change of pace for tomorrow’s lunch break, you’d do well to visit Freedom Cafe.

The flagship cafe and bakery for Freedom a la Cart, an organization that helps survivors of sex trafficking become self-sufficient, Freedom Cafe will host several Columbus-owned businesses in a pop-up marketplace from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. tomorrow at 123 E. Spring St.

The cafe opened earlier this spring.

Freedom a la Cart CEO Paula Haines said she and staff are thrilled to have the new storefront to share with the community.

“The pop-up is our way of sharing the space with small businesses and shining a light on some personal local favorites,” she said. “Friday’s pop-up features a diverse mix of Black-owned businesses, social enterprises and owners in recovery, which is especially important to us during National Black Business Month.”
