Could a beer garden revitalize the South Campus Gateway?
The Gateway near Ohio State was intended to be a place for students to come and hang out, but Campus Partners (who runs the spaces) has struggled to keep tenants in the alley that runs from High Street toward the parking garage. World of Beer’s massive beer garden and patio is hoping to change the lagging alley life and bolster it to higher levels of activity. It is expected to open in March, but is a 4,500-square-foot patio and a plethora of beers enough to lure students in? It seems like it would, but so did cheese-covered late night eats (Gooeyz). The patio though will also have a small stage for acts to perform, according to Columbus Business First.

Drink up. World of Beer coming to OSU
Come March, more beer should be flowing in the South Campus Gateway near OSU’s campus. The Gateway has been filling up spots after Gooeyz and Charlie Bear left the area (and some controversy over the landlord situation followed). Wednesday morning it was announced World of Beer is expected to open after signing at 10-year lease with Campus Partners.
If college kids like anything, it’s probably beer.
