Miss Ohio places top 10 in Miss America competition
Sunday, Nina Davuluri, crowned a new Miss America, and while Miss Ohio, Mackenzie Bart, made it quite far she didn’t take that final crown. Miss New York Kira Kazantsev ended up with the title of Miss America for this year’s competition, but Bart still took home a $5,000 STEM scholarship along with making it into the top 10 in the competition.

Miss Ohio wins talent competition for Miss America
The preliminary rounds have begun for the 2015 Miss America crown. Miss Ohio is already stepping toward the front winning the talent competition for her group with a ventriloquism act. Mackenzie Bart and her puppet Roxy impressed the crowds with a performance of “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from “Mary Poppins.” She is also a senior at Ohio State studying atmospheric science and is hoping to be a meteorologist.
Miss America is set to be crowned Sunday night.
