Santa pops up at the Crooked Can this Sunday for more pics with kiddos and doggies

Santa photos have been popular at Crooked Can—so much so that they’ve offered them two Sundays in a row and will hold a third event Dec. 20.

Megan Fry, part of the ownership team with Crooked Can Brewing Company, said they wanted to think outside the box to find a way to give families a sense of normalcy during a pandemic holiday season–especially regarding traditions and memories.

To keep their Santa pictures safe and socially distanced, they decided to take advantage of their outdoor carryout window, Fry said.

It works like this: You sit down with the kiddos outside, and Santa pops his head out the window behind you.

“The memory of Santa pics for 2020 will be something to talk about,” Fry said. “So many places cancelled Santa pics.”

Crooked Can attracted quite a crowd for their photos this year. Over 70 families showed up Dec. 6, and the brewery had such a large waitlist they decided a second Sunday was necessary. That one, held Dec. 13, attracted 100 families.

“How do we say no to families that want to give their kids that memory?” Fry said.

Fry said several spaces are still available this Sunday, and walk-ins are also accepted.

Santa will be available from 1 to 3 p.m. Dec. 20 for photos with the kiddos, and from 3 to 4 p.m. for photos with doggies. You knew Jolly Old Saint Nick was a dog lover, right?
