Local guide service offers booze-friendly ghost tours and exclusive after-dark access to Green Lawn Cemetery

In case you wanted some spirits with your spirits, Columbus Ghost Tours is here for you.

Since 2014, owner Bucky Cutright has been whisking Columbusites off through journeys to historical local bars that are equal parts creepy and engrossing. And of course, drinks are involved.

“It’s fun for residents, but it’s also a great way to learn about the history of a city if you’re traveling,” Cutright said. “A lot of times the local chamber of commerce won’t want to share the more nitty-gritty places, the more authentic ones.”

Cutright launched this event, called the Booze & Boos tour, as a part of Columbus Ghost Tours when he realized so many area bars boast a haunted history. “It lets people grab a drink or two at each stop; it’s the best of both worlds,” he said with a laugh.

And while the Booze & Boos tour will be going on hiatus (due to COVID concerns) after tonight’s tour, don’t get spooked. There’s plenty more where it came from.

Columbus Ghost Tours is currently booking their Creepy Columbus Walking Tour, and a pair of tours around the infamously-spooky Green Lawn Cemetery. The Ghosts of Greenlawn Cemetary Tour offers both daytime and after-dark time slots.

“This is the first time Greenlawn is welcoming the public in after dark,” Cutright said.

Make sure to check their tours page regularly, to keep and an eye out for when the original Booze & Boos, the Booze & Boos Walking Tour, and the Ancient Ohio Earthworks Tour will return.
