First phase of Wolf’s Ridge new sister brewery now open; kitchen, lounge coming next month

The first phase of the new Wolf’s Ridge concept Understory, a reservable event space on the second floor of the newly-renovated Open Air building housing it, is open for business.

You check out multiple images of the event space here.

And while Understory is currently welcoming event-goers, it won’t be long before you’ll be able to do a whole lot more inside the new space, located at 2571 Neil Ave. Its kitchen—which will focus on fare that’s plant-forward and lighter than Wolf’s Ridge downtown eatery—as well as a public lounge area where guests can purchase and consume drinks.

According to Wolf’s Ridge and Understory owner Bob Szuter, Understory will be creating lighter beers for the new concept as well, including a variety of wood-aged lagers.

“We never wanted to just recreate what we did downtown; authenticity is really important to us. Something that was always missing from the other concepts we’ve considered over the years was that closeness to nature, and at our space downtown there really isn’t any of that,” Szuter said of Understory’s food and drink options.
